Is anyone on here ever happy?

A debate is good, reporting what another person has said, just because you don't like it, is bad.

Don't get involved, if you refuse to accept how someone else is thinking.

Very well said Dragonslayer.

Debate generally allows for people with differing views to discuss their differences, happily in real life the button does not exist. I do however agree that debate should not become personal.

I supose I see both sides.

If you are actually hurt, upset, outraged by something someone has said then why should you have to accept how that person is thinking?- I have used the button a few times, and I do not see how it is another forum users place to tell me I am "bad" for doing so.

The ref to a certain german chap is unpleasant to say the least, and this being a moderated forum we can "tell" someone. Telling them not to get involved on a public forum is never going to get you anywhere- thats what we are all here for- to be involved.

Debates are all well and good- but "in real life" half the things said on here would not be said face to face so the two scenarios are totally different- much easier to say hurtful, inflammatory things when sat behind a computer (for some at least!)

Is the whole point of these kind of forums not meant to be somewhere where you can get advice and support in troubled times? I agree entirely that there is no place on these forums for people to be abusive and aggressive towards others - just as I would hope they would not be like that face to face. However people log on for help and advice when things aren't always working and its hard to be happy smiley people when a horse is hell bent on making life hell!!
