Hi guys,
Is anyones mare in season at the moment? My mare hasnt had a season since the end of Oct and it was a very strong one - then last Fri she appears to have come into season again - last yr it was the end of Mar before she had her first of the yr....

Yes....my 26yr old mare (who really should know better) came into season big time just before Xmas, unfortunately, what with all her doolallying about with the boy, she went and put her pelvis out. Nightmare...!

Hi,
Thank god its not just me! I wander if the spell of mild weather we had before Xmas has anything to do with it? Hopefully she will settle down soon - Mar to Oct is really long enough to cope with it!

Mines in season too, she has been since around xmas time, she is almost out of it now, but she is such a messy thing when in season. Her tail and legs desperately need a wash but its so cold!!
She was neighing and prancing at anything!!

Hi

i have 8y old and rising 4y old and they both been in and out of season throughout this winter. its a nightmare!!! and they come on strong, so you can imagine how much their rugs sting. little tarts!

Mine doesnt seem to be out of season!!!! On box rest after colic surgery and only available stable is next door to the stallion...her son! She has actually managed to escape from her stable to try to get to him!! Poor little man!! I think some mores are more obvious than others.... Does anyone know whether a mare would actually catch on one of these winter seasons or are they just for show if you know what i mean?

My ex brood mare comes into season practically whenever anyone rides past her paddock on male! happens very regularly for an odd three days ish! thankfully there aren't any liverys or stables near by!! she came into season yesterday after hearing a horse going down lane, couldn;t even see it must have smelt good though! and sh;es not exactly subtle about it either!

My 19 month old filly has just finished a season in the past day. Weird isn't it? We have a totally freezing period of weather and the mare's come into season???!!
