Is BOF now taking the pee??

BOF has never charged me for riding lessons. HOWEVER, I never ever hassle him to come and watch me ride, I exercise his horses and lend him all my stuff (excluding saddle and bridle) I've even wormed his horses free of charge (have rather alot of wormers from when I had lots of horses!) and I gave him quite alot of stuff from when I was in the UK in Nov.
Now, BOTH his horses were lame yesterday when I came to ride them. I texted him as he's away, and he's just asked me to give them (or find someone to give them) a shot of bute...
Does this not seem excessively cheeky? I mean... he blinking well knows it's MY stuff so could he not have asked a bit differently??
OR more to the point, shouldn't he be getting the vet out? The gelding has a capped knee and lots of wear and tear on all 4 legs (has had capped knee for AGES) but I have no idea why the mare is hopping... perhaps a foot abcess.

Can I just add that I wouldn't inject a horse IV anyway and he knows it...

As they say in Italy "la troppa confidenza toglie la riverenza"! Translated( although Im sure you can understand it) means - too much confidence takes away the reverence.Hes obviously used to your generosity and doesnt think you could possibly mind. I reckon that its too late now to change things without ruining your relationship with him. As for the lameness, he sounds just like most horsey Italians-all that latin blood

My vet taught me to inject IM but NO WAY would I inject another persons horse *just in case* and certainly not IV.

Mairi, are you quite sure you've not met him??? That's exactly what he's like. And you're quite right... I'll just have to lump it...
I'm still not getting anyone to inject his blinking horses!

My vet has taught me both, but I'm not confident enough to do IV and certainly not Bute after I heard of someone missing the vein and killing their horse!!!
