The BBC stopped filming Gatcombe a few years ago as they were fed up with the fact that it usually received a lot of withdrawals after dressage & SJ.

welshchick - thanks looks like the bl**dy BBC are showing hours and hours of rugby league!!!!! not a sniff of Gatcombe

K - I know I got all emotional when he was sjing and even welled up when he went clear! how ridiculous is that?... this sport is the best! can't believe he has been at the top of the game for so long the man is a genius, can't wait to see him back out competing, do you know where he is entered?... I would like to see him back in the saddle, I thought he was doing badders this year but didn't his horse hurt it's neck???...

well, if you got emotional watching it now, can you imagine what it was like live?!

Toddy's at Gatcombe this weekend, and entered at Burghley, so i'll move heaven and earth to see him there, am deffo going Thurs but will go Friday too if necessary! (if you can get away from home/horse/job for a day or so, i'm an hour from Burghley and you're welcome to stay!)
he is a genius, i've seen some phenomenal riders in my time but never one like him, good enough to do top class SJing (he did that at Olympic level, did you know?), Dr and Eventing. and such a lovely approachable person too, amazing to be that good and also have no ego at all.
he's building up a bit of a string so i hope he'll keep eventing at least till 2012, and hopefully beyond.
there was a rumour a little while ago that Vaughn Jeffries had got another eventer and was planning a comeback. now, if Blyth'll get back in the saddle again too, we'll really see something!

glad to hear you're feeling better!
Boss had a lesson with Toddy this spring - from her report, it was excellent.
i haven't ever been lucky enough to be taught by him, might move heaven and earth to try to get a lesson next year though.
