My girls are fed JWB but I ran out and had to get some from the supermarket. The only brand I thought was ok was Harringtons and when I opened it the biscuits seem identical to the JWB.

Just curious really.

Harringtons seems to be made by WAGG ?

Both Harringtons and JWB are 5* on the above sites anaysis of different Brands.

Whenever I look at that site, all I see are brands I have never seen in the UK. I assume it is an American site. Where are brands like JWB and Harringtons listed? I can't find them in the 5* category and they don't come up if you do a search. (Sorry if I am being a numpty!)

I used the search engine and they came up then.

American site would make sense though as I didn't recognise half the brands mentioned.

It's not on the dog food analysis website and no food with that many fillers would get more than one star.

It comes up as red (bad)on this index:
http://www.petforums.co.uk/dog-health-nutrition/189896-dry-dog-food-index.html

First ingredient is cereal, as are third and fourth, then unnamed 'meat' as fifth ingredient. Beet pulp is the residue left after extracting sugar from beets, pointless filler which would otherwise not be used for anything else as its worthless. Not good at all, IMO.

From their own website:
Composition: Maize, Lamb Meat Meal (min 14%), Barley, Rice (min 14%), Meat Meal, Beet Pulp, Poultry Fat, Digest, Vitamins & Minerals, Linseed, Kelp (0.2%), Yeast (0.1%), Citrus Extract (0.04%) & Yucca Extract (0.01%).

If it is made by Wagg, that dry food includes BHA and BHT as preservatives. Both have been raised as potential carcinogens.

Never again is all I will say, used it as couldnt find Skinners on holiday and the boys just had terrible wind and Teal upset stomach, ended up just going to the tesco down the road every day buying chicken thighs and tinned sardines, checkout girl must have thought I was nuts.

You should have seen the checkout girl in Morrisons at the weekend! We got a massive new freezer, over 4 foot long, so I cleared the shelves of pig trotters and kidneys. :o

Thanks for the input ladies.

You both seem to feed raw but that is not for me so I buy JWB as both my girls look well on and neither have 'wind' :D snigger

We do, but I hear JWB is fab and not bank breaking either. I have a bit left of a bag for kong filling or when big dog has a temper and refuses raw!
