I wouldn't say so at all, I think TBH he has still got a fair bit of filling out to do.
Very handsome chap though - i think i put that everytime you post a picture lol!
Anyway - puppies should have more fat on them than older dogs surely so that they can grow quickly and turn it all into muscle?
I think he is gorgeous
[/ QUOTE ]Thank you - As I understand it there is a saying 'Puppy Fat' ..... he doesn't have any fat he has rolls of spare skin that he has yet to grow into!!! LOL!!

[/ QUOTE ]He certainly has... he's only 27 weeks (or will be this saturday) so is still a baby - got plenty more growing to do - infact he still has at least a year of growing left!!!

[/ QUOTE ]Hehe thank you - compliments welcomed every time!!
I'm sorry, did they actually look at the pic? To me, he looks quite lean, like he still has to grow into himself. I would guess he has a nice covering and you can quite easily feel his ribs when you stroke him?
Looking very handsome as always. Can't believe how much he has grown!

[/ QUOTE ]Yes you can feel his last 2-3 ribs nicely - the others are nicely covered!! - He is a chunky boy but IMO not fat by any means?!?

[/ QUOTE ]I know!! I measured him lastnight - at the wither he is 26" .... and now weighs 7 stone so yes at 27weeks (this sat) he is growing rather alot!!!!
Always difficult to tell from a photo, but I found a 'doggy' condition scoring link here
I have heard that you do have to be careful that you don't overfeed puppies, especially the big breeds, as it can cause problems. But I'm not a doggy expert so am not qualified to judge his condition!
Looks absolutely fine to me. So long as he has a 'waist' and no excess rolls of fat around his neck worry not. I can see he has skin to fill and he looks in lovely condition.
I think he looks perfect. He's got a nice tuck-up and good muscle definition. He'll get leaner when he's a grown boy. For now, let him enjoy the freedom to blub out a little bit

i would say not, but then I'm a first time dog owner and I know nothing
and even if he is fat - he's gorgoeus
[/ QUOTE ]Thank you - I too am a first time dog owner - but have just been on another website (A dog one) and was told that he was too fat!!!
and that I was overfeeding!?

LMFAO!
If they think he is overweight they should see Danes at his age!!!
He looks fine to me hun.He should have a tiny bit of podge to help him through growth spurts(it turning into muscle is a myth.It cant, but it does give extra energy reserves while they build muscle) and he still has a far way to go- both up and out!
Your doing a great job with him, dont let anyone knock your confidence.
NO WAY!!!
I would honestly tell you if I thought otherwise as I think its completely pointless to lie!! But he looks perfect for his height and breed!!
I was really worried that my dog was underweight, people were even saying to me 'He looks very skinny,do you think you should feed him more?!' Obviously this really upset me, them basicly thinking I was neglecting my dog (if only they knew how spoilt he is!!) so when I next took him to the vet to have his jabs they weighed him-and guess what-he's just right!!! (if not a tiny bit too heavy)!! was reassured it was muscle!! but it put my mind at rest! I know this is the other end of the scale but thought i'd share my experience!!
Hope its sort of made you a bit happier about it!!
