I have a loan from a resuce centre - a little welshie, Tieger. He is a companion for my dominant TB type, Charles who pushes him about. Tigs will stand up for himself, but is obviously below Charles. He gets to the hay and water, food and has space to get away from Charles if he wants to, but i worry he is unhappy or feels bullied. Do you think this is likely or an i just personifying him? He's friendly and doesn't seem depressedbut i was just a bit worried.

When you say he has room to get away when eating - how exactly do you feed them??

If they have plenty of room between them - and more piles of hay than horses then you shouldn't have a problem.

If he's a natural follower and accepts your TB is in charge, he will be content. In fact, low ranking horses often get stressed when they have to be in charge.
