Firstly - well done on a daz white coat!!

The photos seem to be at a show - have you had a bad day out?

What breed? As he is not plaitted is he a pure bred M & M?

He obviously jumps so my first point of call would be workers.

In any case it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks - he is yours and if you like him it doesn't matter.

I show mine and yes he does well and is a very handsome chap - but I would just love to be able to tie him up at a show to get him ready instead of needing someone to be with me at every show to hold him - looks aren't everything and no I would not consider him ugly

hes 15.2/15.3hh, hunts, pony club etc.
wanted to show him to give him something else to concentrate on as he can get a bit worked up/worried about his showjumping and i thought that it might help him to relax about it- like we do with our polo ponies... :/

From reply presume he is not M&M so cut your tail (2-4 inches below hock when carried) Tail looks very thick so i presume it is not pulled - so pull it.

With regard to neck - correct plaitting will make a big difference.

Another class to try would be riding club horse - but workers would be more his thing

but i like his tail

lol... its really preety when its plaited... in the top photo it looks ridiculously long... it doesnt usually look that long... i might try some workers... but surely as they are meant to be hunters, wont he get marked down due to his height? or is that totally wrong?!

I have to say I hate pulled tails too - i love a plaitted tail - but is it not correct so its pull tail time if you want to do it properly

Working hunter classes come in all sorts of shapes and sizes depending on the show. Some will do jump heights, some horse heights and some weights of horse.

Look at the shedules and pick the right class. With your plaits if your neck is weak you need to enhance this. Look at the Louise Bell video on horse hero

He's a cutie! Why not do a tack and turn out, before a jumping class? My friend's horse used to always get worked up at shows so she used to enter him a a tack and turnout first thing, just to help get everything out of his system and for him to settle down a bit.

He's a lovely boy, he's got a very kind face.

IMO i would try best turned out if he gets worked up, it's a nice relaxing class for them i found (in the olden days!!) the judges pat them and pick their feet up etc so it may be good for him.
