Hello,

My grandparents have asked what I would like for Christmas/birthday as it’s soon after.

I was thinking either a subscription to horse and hound or horse and rider magazine OR a few months of Horse and country tv and if I liked it enough I’d carry on paying it myself.

Is it worth it or am I better off with a magazine? Annoyingly we used to have virgin tv and switched to bt literally a few weeks before H&C went on virgin. And my pleas of reverting back are falling on deaf ears (they’d lose their beloved BT Sports 🙄)

Thanks!

I watch H&C on my friend's Sky subscription. There are a few programmes I really enjoy but it depends what you like. If you want to watch SJ there is hours every day (GCT and FEI), dressage (FEI) but even I can only watch a certain amount of dressage. Look at the schedule and see how much you would watch. Lots of repeats of everything.

I have it with Virgin as well. I wouldn't pay for it - it is terribly repetitive. But occasionally fun. I'm afraid I found the same with Horse and Rider too - having subscribed for probably 10 years the articles began to repeat about 3 years ago until I got so annoyed I cancelled. Horse & Hound though - staple of the family!

I watch it when I pet sit at a friends house. There is hours of showjumping which is fine if you like that but I get bored after a bit. The educational programmes are good but repeated so many times. When stuck in the house I even ended up watching 'Wendy' a dreadful cartoon about a bunch of horsey drama queens. I wouldn't pay for it myself but it's fun occasionally.

It's ok but as everyone else has said a lot of it is repeates and really old ones which have been on so many times already, they do have all the current showjumping and dressage but I can't watch either for hours on end.
