painted or are the walls just bare? My stable is the last one in the block, so furthest from the light and can look quite dull. So I was thinking of painting the walls white to brighten it up. The back wall and left wall are solid stone/breeze blocks, the other wall is metal so wouldn't be painted, neither would the front part as it's metal too.

I think though just the back wll being painted would be enough?

mine are bare - but the blocks are very light in colour, and the stables are well lit.

I pressure wash my stables as often as I can to keep the light blocks a light colour!!

Our stables at work are white at the top and black at the bottom, about 3 or 4 breeze blocks high. So the bedding doesn't stain the walls.

Be prepared to have poo stains all over it... if your horse is anything like mine anyway! My horse's old stable was white (still is but now with brown stains

) and it made it much lighter. Her current stable is in a block of wooden stables, and the inside is just unpainted wood. It can get a bit dull in there, although it's not too dark really. What is your roof like? We have a clear sheet of roofing above each stable to let the light in, it really works (unless there's snow on it!)

Oh she's a lady, she wouldn't dream of pooing on walls!

Roof is very high, it's a weird block, like a warehouse with metal stables constructed inside? They is metal sheeting for the roof, with some clear panels in it.

My horse lives out 24/7 now but when I did have a stable I painted it white every few years to keep it looking clean and bright. I hate gloomy stables.
