Long story short...

Small grey lump appears on grey horses back right under saddle, about 1cm wide and about 1cm in height, doesnt cause any obvious pain, doesnt rub etc as really near spine.

Pretty much daily (often after ridden work) top of lump falls breaks away and falls off, but is reasonably quickly (it appears) replaced again the next day. When it falls off its sort of slightly hollow cavity - again no pain to horse when drops off.

So far hasnt got any obviously bigger but am monitoring it. It kind of appeared over night.

Any thoughts? i wasn't aware of sarcoids being this sort of make up?

Cheers

Sounds to me more like a cyst, possibly caused by sweating under the saddle.

My cob came with several of these - the vet felt they were caused by the former owner not being thorough enough washing the sweat off his back after hunting. These also created scabs that regularily fell off leaving a small crater.

Hard to say with any pictures though...
