Is it a splint ?

My horse had a very slightly swollen leg yesterday , no lameness and no heat. Then I’ve noticed a small lump has formed on the inside of his cannon bone. All swelling gone down. Lump seems to look like a splint but seems more like a formed one rather than new. Any experience of this ? Will be calling the vet but wondered people’s opinions.

More likely a knock from his other foot, since it was so sudden. If he's not lame, I wouldn't bother calling a vet.

Mostly splints don't cause lameness and do eventually go down on there own, just keep an eye on it.

One of my horses got a splint in May I was actually away and noticed it the day I came home, he was completely sound and he has been ridden as normal since and his been fine, it has very slightly shrunk in size and I am hoping it does go down by next summer so I can show him, fingers crossed! I did have a brief chat with my vet he said if the splint feels hard and the horse is sound continue riding
