To borrow something without asking, 6 months later insist you will replace item with new version. 18 months later deny all knowledge and return original item in fit for bin condition.

Pathetic

No its not acceptable.

But a hard lesson to learn, i am the worlds worst for letting people borrow my stuff, now though if they dont bring it back, i tell them im taking something of theres untill it's returned, i soon get my stuff back then !

No its not and its the reason i have started locking all my stuff away now.

If people borrow something for long enough then they automatically think that they own it!!!

No definatley not a lesson i have learnt! I once lent a water bucket and few bits of a grooming kit to a girl at our yard for pony club camp! She did not have everything! (I know its not a lot but just the principle) Anyway a week after she came back she gave me back my bucket with her horses name written allover it and said she lost the grooming stuff i gave her! I was fuming! At least it doesnt cost a lot to replace it all but thats not the point! I now dont lend anything to anyone unless it is a close friend! I am afraid it is a lesson everyone will learn at some point!

Definitely not - if you're going to borrow other people's belongings you should take the best possible care of them and have the decency to return them!

i lent a very smart grackle bridle to someone once!! about 6 months later i asked said person for it back as wanted it for flint and the person claimed it was theres!! nice! i only lend things to CLOSE friends!!had far too much stuff taken over the years aswell!!

Oooh definitely not!!Hope it wasn't something exspensive!Brass neck of folk never ceases to amaze me
Don't suppose its worth asking for replacement or at least an apology?
