Is it bad my horse isn't clipped?

Hi! :)
I ride my horse at least 5 times a week. After 45 mins of flatwork he is a tiny bit sweaty but its dry and he's not puffy.
However, if it's jumping, he get's a lot sweatier (depending on warmer days too). The sweat is also dry then and he's not puffy...but seeing his neck all curly and sweaty makes me panic !!
I haven't clipped him yet as he is petrified. (First time)...So won't be able to do a trace clip just yet.
We are going to an XC clinic which is an hour long. If he starts sweating, he may not be too bad, but if he is...should i worry or not? I'm just a big softie!! Will it be affecting him e.g if we're halfway through but he starts getting a bit sticky?
Many thanks! :)

It is not the end of the world if your horse gets sweaty but over time it can mean they get sore from tack rubbing if you are not very careful or lose weight, as long as you take care to ensure he is always well brushed or washed off afterwards and he is not losing weight he should be fine, don't panic about the xc clinic it is just a one off so it will do no harm.
Spend the summer trying to get him more confident or consider sedation next year if the workload is heavier.

If he sweats a lot give him a good wash down, put a cooler on & walk him off for 10 mins before loading.

Horses sweat when they do hard work whether clipped or not, so long as you wash them off so their skin isn't irritated then its fine.

Its easier to have them clipped but not essential
