...If I jump my mare into the paddock with the lovely coloured stallion down the road and have an 'accidental' foalie as a result.

I know his name so foal would even have name on passport and not be ridiculed for being a bast*rd child.

I know when his owners come down to check him so could time it perfectly, plus my mare can jump five bar gates (as proved when she took off that one time...)

They shout to each other over the fence, I think it's cruel to keep them apart and the foal would be so lovely :p :D
 
Yes, very naughty I'd say.

If you want a foal by this boy so badly, why not just approach his owners and do the thing properly? If its a matter of stud fees and you can't afford it then you shouldn't be breeding a foal,in the first place!
 
I have thought about doing the same with the stunning warm blood stallion on our yard. I can't bear the thought of 'putting' Olive in foal as I would worry then if something went wrong and I lost her, it would be all my fault, BUT if it were a total suprise....

I have been tempted to engineer the gates being open....
 
I did exactly that when I was 13. I 'popped' Molly through the field gate (tacked up :O) to have an encounter with the lovely dun highland stallion when his owners were on holiday :D
She had a lovely dun colt 11 months later, much to everyones surprise :D

OMG :eek: :eek: :D Did anyone ever find out?? Where you able to list the stallion as the sire on the passport?
 
I so want to accidently let my mare wander in to the Spanish stallion on our yards field. Would be a beautiful foal and a really decent cross
 
I've witnessed him jumping his water trough too so it would have fine athletic ability :p

Don't think mare would mind - you can cut the tension with a knife when whickers are exchanged :D
 
Its also irresponsible, either or both horses could get hurt and unless you know have had your mare swabbed you dont know what if anything she is carrying that the stallion could then unwittingly pass on by the owner not knowing he had covered a dirty mare.
A work collegue breeds traditionals and they run with the stallion all year and one of her mares had its leg broken after the stallion whipped round and lashed out after having just covered it.

Flaxen- I believe that this is a lighthearted joke rather than a serious debate ;) my friends mare hopped a 5' fence to get in with his 18 month colt, and hopped back into her own field afterwards- we were none the wiser until 9 1/2 months later when she colicked out jumping (twice a week, 1m/1.10 tracks) and we took her to the vets... She had six weeks to go- and wasn't showing at all! :)
 
Oh I was onto VFS ages ago, when she logged in as B&B and responded to a thread started by VFS. She forgot to log in with her new name... :D
 
Since she has been behaving, I can't help but think it would be nice if people would stop outing Dunroamin.
Everyone deserves a second chance and all that....

I'm sure that the stallion would be very appreciative if you inadvertently left the gate open. Just make sure you practice looking surprised and shocked for when the mystery pregnancy comes to light. What! :eek: pregnant! Noooo:confused: how on earth did that happen? Who would do such a thing :mad::confused:

Not exactly the same scenario, but someone once did that to me!

She bred two bitches, one to my dog. Then I was given a choice of a service pup from the litter NOT by my dog. Yes, I do know my own stock!

Of course, I could not prove anything so said nothing. I was always very polite but the culprit was never invited over my threshold and I never dealt with her again. I know she was the loser as she said as much without admitting the fraud. She also admitted that she thought this sort of deceit rather fun. He who plays, pays!

All joking aside breeding horses can be dangerous, one person on their own (and ESP if horse is wearing tack) is very irresponsible and dangerous!! For people and horses. Be careful peeps! Jesus!
