Is it just cause I've reached a certain age...

Now I've reached the grand old (honest) age of 23, I can't help but notice that for the last few weeks, every time I pick up a Horse and Hound I see either a person or a horse which I know in it.

It's getting quite disturbing.

Does anyone else have this happen all the time, or is it just me?!

Nope- start worrying when you read about a horse being retired after gazillions of years competing and think ' Aww, I used to look after him when he started out' !

i really annoy OH when I say "oh look it's so&so, I went to school with them" or "ahh, so&so from down the road won at blah show!"

Ha- I always brag that I always said one of the five year olds I used to ride would go and win Badminton or Burghley (it won both), conveniently ignoring the fact that I probably said that about 2-3 horses each year!

Not me but I save copies of H&H to pass onto my dad who usually finds someone he's known from hunting or racing in the last 50 years in the obituaries.

I find I recognise a name and then realise its the child or grandchild of the person I originally knew!!
