They are just like the Parelli ones, only cheaper. I think that is what the two of them are both based on because I am sure he patented his...
 
There have been controller headcollars like that around for donkeys years, parelli just patented a design that hadnt been patented in the past and put a name on it.
 
Parelli haven't patented the design of rope halters. They are as common as headcollars in some countries, and made by as many different people. I always think of a controller, or pressure, halter as being one that has some sort of closing action on the horse's head. Which these don't.
The main difference between the makers is the fit, Parelli may be most expensive, but not the best fit. The knots at the side should sit behind the cheek, not in it as they do with most Parelli ones.
 
Hmm.....I use these all the time, just because I prefer them to ordinary style headcollars, not because someone says they are the bees knees and that everybody should have one. As to the fit and where the knots go, surely that is pretty flexible depending on how you do it up.
