Every pair of long riding boots I have bought have broken....I had a pair of Ariats the winter ice sythetic ones...they ripped on the foot/split....so did 2 pairs of mark todd winter sythetic ones...a pair of mountain horse rimfrost boots also....and now my dublin frontier winter boots....i have a pair of leather MH high riders which are fine but i dont wear them anywhere near as often....

Iv had to resort to short boots and chaps for riding and wellies for the yard (i think its the riding and constant use that does it) but surely they should be capable of being worn every day!???

Or do I just have REALLY bad luck!!!??

Do you wear them for yard work as well as riding? I've found that yard work WRECKS riding boots.

I wear them for everything.....riding....mucking out...(only winter) field work..everything....all iv been doing with them this summer is riding and walking about yard and mucking out 4 stables once a week

Yup. I'd second that. Its a pain, especially in Winter, but changing into riding boots before i ride, and spending the rest of the time at the yard in 'yard' boots is the only way I can keep a decent pair of riding boots for longer than 3 months...

I only wear mine for riding too, also when I first bought them I saddle soaped them to made them more supple, I wear mine everyday and they are ace they are Rectiligne and more than one of us at my yard swears by them!

I only wear riding boots for riding in....horse wee rots them....its a pain but I change after yard chores.

Ariat Mudbusters are great- warm 'wellies' but they are sturdy and are also designed for riding in.

yes i have seen these but £50 for a pair of wellies..lol!! I have had wellies before that werent cheap and theys split so im reluctant to spend too much just in case!!

I've invested in a pair of chaps and riding boots....a pair of muckers an chaps for the days i dont ride....and some cheapy wellies....fingers crossed my feet will keep dry this winter!!

glad im not the only one though

its a pain in the rear..

Know what you mean...but these are wellies with nobs on!

I have a pair of Hoggs yard boots...I've had them buggers about 5 years and I do everything in them, even ride on occasion but they have just started to leak....I think I will invest in a new pair of those also....

I wore my mountain horse ones for everything for.... 2yrs ish? They're still alive! (though now unused as I just got a new pair of Brogini boots that fit 10x better...) also my mark todd ones mostly get used in winter and they're fine... but my leather ones stood up to riding, mucking out, wandering around muddy fields, walking on the beach... xD
