Had a lovely walk today in the sunshine, the dogs were really well behaved, everything was great until...........

we finished the 'off the lead' part of the walk, and I went to put the three on leads. Ordinarily they are brilliant, and queue up to have their leads put on :D

But today Amy decided to play silly b*ggers? She spent about 10 minutes dancing around a few feet away from me, every time I walked towards her she would back off but she wouldnt run right away, just stayed just out of reach?

Soooooo annoying... got her in the end however! Does anyone else have this occasionally? My first whippet was a great one for doing it, she knew how much it wound me up :D
 
Henry knows better than to try my patience at lead time :p Also I feed him a sweetie after the lead is on :D

Of course he tries my patience in a multitude of other ways :eek::rolleyes:
 
None of my perfectly behaved, highly responsive and sociable dogs would ever dream of doing something so downright disobedient!!!!

Twenty lashes the next time it happens.

And no dinner.
 
Ah so it serves me right for being a pig headed sod - I am damned if I am going to take treats for my dogs to give them just because they do what I tell them :p :D
 
Not just your three,has soon has im just about to get pea,she buggers off down the field,oh and when there is people about she runs to them for help.

I got in the car and drove off without him!!!

His expression in the rearview mirror was hysterical!!!

I stopped at the carpark entrance and a very relieved JRT jumped into the car quick smart!! :)
 
PMSL PS :D Sadly I cant do that as I walk home, and Amy is quite stupid enough to race off ahead onto the road.....

(Sorry for calling your ex-dog stupid Cayla!)
 
Never had a done that has ever done that.......NOT even Amy:rolleyes:......rule one never walk to the dog, make the dog come to u, remember your treats or pretent to eat and share (obs duping the dog):p

There's a few dogs at club who do this, it is a fab spectator sport, especially the dobe, he is hilarious, us all helpfully shouting from the sidelines:

"Run away from him!"
(Dobe looks on blankly)

"Pretend to pick up something really interesting"
(Dobe looks on blankly)

"Lie on the ground and wave your legs in the air!"
(Dobe looks on blankly. We wet ourselves laughing.)
