but if i heard she'd had a splat (not the horse though, obv) i'd not feel too sad.

Thats a bit mean. But how's this. I hope she gets a stomach bug which causes the trots. Then, just after the start, the first attack happens causing a brown splodge to appear in the white breeches. Carrying on she goes splat in the water. Horse legs it home. The splodge then spreads through the breeches and down into the boots. Suddenly the sun gets really hot and she has to walk all the way back to the start.

look a damn sight fitter than a lot of others?

Daisy, Tina and Mary didnt look like they'd broken sweat in their close ups/interviews whereas Toddy looked like he'd been swimming.

I thought Toddy looked quite fit (for an older man) in the shirtless pics.

Why all the bitching about how big the riders are? I'm sure you're not all size 8s.

No but we are not professional sport athletes, competing for our country, and then subjecting our horses run around gruelling competitions with us on their backs.

Just a frying pan Teapot? I thought she looked suspiciously like she'd had a fight with an entire kitchen.... after eating the contents of the fridge first

Word is Mark (who was slagged off at the beginning of the thread as being one of the unfit ones) is at the gym more than most so he's taking it seriously. I don't think you can judge how much people are sweating in nearly 30C heat and humidity to accurately judge fitness. Some people, especially some men, just sweat a lot - which might even be an advantage in that climate. The truth will come out on xc.

Mark did have a great line once. Some asked him how he stayed fit and his answer was, "Up until I was 40 I rode horses and smoked cigarettes. Now I have to do a bit more." A bit flip but perhaps if you ride like him the whole thing is a lot less effort!
