I've been competing for the last 19 years, riding for 20 years. Is it normal to still get super excited two days before i'm competing even though i compete 2/3 times a month?!

Sat at work finding it hard to contain my excitement!! Keep planning what i'm going to do with the horses tonight e.g riding, groming, cleaning tack etc in preparation for tomorrow and i do this pretty much every week!!

The only difference is this week, is that i'm taking both the horses for the first time together.

Maybe I will be less excited about it in another 20 years!! x

Anyone else this bad?!

Yes, I don't compete properly anymore, unless the odd hc unaffil sj counts, clear round or local wh counts. But I get as excited about taking my young daughter to very low key stuff as she does, just like I did as a kid.

Definitely, im exactly the same.

Im a right misery all weekend if I have no comps planned, my poor OH is going to suffer this weekend as have nothing planned as of yet.

I've just started competing again after a break of nearly 15 years - tomorrow is my second competition.

Am so looking forward to plaiting tonight and final preps, and I know I'll sleep really badly. Still lots of nerves, but plenty of excitement too!

Oh good luck AMH, how exciting! x

Glad i'm not the only one that still gets super excited everytime! x I dont think i could have horses and not compete them (super competitive person!) x I love it when the horses see me bringing the lorry past the field and they both neigh and canter up to the gate! They must enjoy it as muh as i do! x

Yes it's lovely when the horse is just as excited as you are. Mine is like a cat on hot bricks hopping around as soon as he hears the trailer being hitched up.

I'm not too bad in terms of excitability, but I must admit to enjoying all the preperations, particularly when I have to plait up!

(that said, I'm far more prone to rushing the jumps than my horse...)
