Is it ok to feed dry nuts?

I picked up a new boy yesterday and he obviously didnt like alfa a mixed with nuts (left nearly all of it) so this morning i just gave him half a scoop of nuts on their own and he ate the lot.
He is a big 5yr old pure ID and needs to put on a bit of condition. I will be having his teeth done this week as i know they are bad but thought i would get some conditioning cubes and wondered what else to put with them.

Hi S, Kitty was the same when I first got her so we gave her very little chaff to start with but bulked it up with sugar beet - gradually increased the chaff and now she's on a 'normal' ration! Look forward to some more pics of your new one! x

They're a complete feed, you don't need to put anything with them.

Just make sure he has constant access to water.
