Is it ok to travel in stable bandages?

My horse has to go in for a scintigraphy, and the vets have asked for him to be wrapped up warm the night before he goes in, and not to remove the bandages.

I know on the front legs he'd be ok to travel in gamgee and bandage, but is he ok on the back legs? To protect his hocks could I put travel boots over the top as I don't have hock boots.

In answer to both questions - I don't see why not!

Just in case the travel boots don't fit over the existing bandages, then if he were mine I would be happy to travel him in just the existing bandages.

yes fine. i usually travel mine in bandages if on a longer journey to support her legs or after XC or hunting

Yes, just make sure your gamgee is large enough to cover his hocks. Horses have always travelled in bandages traditionally, more support than boots

definately. i wont travel my horse in travel boots (think they are crap support wise) so i bandage. you can get pads with a hock shaped bit if your worried he will bash himself in transit.

If you haven't got long enough gamgee to go round the hocks you may find your boots will fit on over the bandages, mine certainly do and my lad isn't lightly boned

Brilliant, thanks! It's not so much for the support as to just keep his legs warm, and bashed free!

I hope we find out the root problem once and for all, it's so annoying not knowing what or where the issue is.
