If a really really good looking cool man wears close fitting lycra breeches..... does he immediately lose all credit?

Should the wearing of such breeches be banned on the grounds of good taste and public decency or is there a man alive who can get away with them??

As a tall, slim man I can categorically answer each of your questions: Yes, Yes, No

A couple of years ago I saw a guy, who thought he was 19, but was clearly closer to 39 and looked like a reject from a Bucks Fizz tribute band. He and his wife / partner were both wearing Dubarry look'a'like boots, black lycra jods / breeches and white T shirts. At 19 the guy might just have got away with it, but at 39 he looked ridiculous and I had to duck onto the nearest stand to LOL.

Men and lycra breeches = Not a good look.

OMG No!

I would say 80% of horsey men fall into either tall and skinny - look as if they don't actually have knees, merely knots tied in their legs, or short and dumpy...could kick a rhino to death. Not a good prospect for lycra either way!

The other 20% well if you could face being mistaken for auditioning for the ballet, or being asked if you're there to tame the lions..there's a remote, outside chance of getting away with it.

However I suspect thats what pleated front breeches were invented for!

Out of interest, can anyone ever recall seeing a bloke who did look good in the lycra ones, as opposed to one who merely believed he did!

No way, lycra is the work of the devil when it comes to men's breeches. All lumps and bumps exposed in far more detail than anyone needs to see. even ballet dances put a box in their tights to make them decent. Pleats and sturdy breeches are definitely the only way for men to go.
