a horse that is fairly easy to ride, ie give it a nice squeeze and it will go, not to sensitive, but not a riding school donkey, will circle nicely..... but will also generally work in an outline (on its own!), and do some nice lateral movements!!! having real horsey problems atm!!!

Yep - I picked one up yesterday!!!!

I have one and you can't have her! Good horses are out there but you have to look and be very realistic about what you want, what your ability level is and what you can afford.

I was lucky with mine that I found a nice uncomplicated youngster and put the work in with her schooling. Clover is now ready to Intro, riding club, pony club, hunt and do everything in between making her a very useful engine. The choice of horse availble will depend on how much you have to spend and how much work you are able to put in yourself.

just at a loss, got two horseys, one (as seen from previous posts) is a fairly good one, but wont go well for me at all. not allowed to ride it now as i will ruin it, and I cant have any lessons on it.

Other one is not so good, but goes better for me than other one, but he doesnt do anything fancy, and, again, cant have any lessons, so cant improve him

i sympathise - one of mine doesn't go well for me at all at the moment, and like you I think he has great potential and I don't want to mess him up. However I don't want to give up on him so just trying different approaches to see if we can find one that suits us both. Sorry you can't have any lessons, but I'm sure if you can work through this without ruining the 'good' one. You can probably also improve the other one without lessons as well! I know it is good to have someone on the ground, but at the end of the day they are your horses and it is you and you alone that they have to go for, not an instructor. Good luck and don't give up!

But surely if you had lessons on the "good" horse, both you and Horse would improve? Plus, if it is your horse, who is telling you you can't ride it? Or do I not know the half of it? Now I have to go and read back over your other posts to try and find out !

I'm sorry but if it is your horse no one can tell you not to ride it!! That is a form of bullying
