Is it possible?

my horse has injured herself taking a chunk of flesh off heel/cornary band area about an inch long, it is now infected have tried to poltice but problem is she refuses to stay in a stable, is it possible to keep a poltice on out in the field?? they keep falling off.....please help!!!!

you can get poltice boots. I know they do them at our vets. Maybe try yours?? Otherwise, wrap foot in doubled up carrier bad (the thick type) and gaffa tape like mad. Change 2x a day.

Have you had the vet out to her hun? If it's a nasty infection she may need help with antibiotics.

I'm going to presume you have had a vet out, so yes, it is certainly possible to keep a poultice on when out in the field. Different ways of protecting it, but generally involves plenty of gaffer/duct tape!
