Need some advice;I have a 15.1h gelding that i bought for my son who has lost all interest so is going to waste in the field.My question is it ossible to sell off the field and what is the price guide have not got a clue. Any thoughts would be gratefully recieved.
 
It depends on what the horse has previously done, what it's like to ride and handle, what the horse is capable of.. and a ton of other things! Lot's of people prefer to try out the horse though, so selling from the field is not always the best thing xx
 
Thats the thing he is a great chap is 8 yrs old has evented,sj and pc/rc.Had a injury or rather a allergy but now fine but son who is now a teenager has just no interest so i just cannot afford to keep him to do nothing.Was placed every time out.What am i looking at price wise?
 
I think you'd be better trying to find someone to fitten him up and do a bit of schooling with him so that any potential buyers will be able to get a glimmer of what they can expect from him. And although you will most certainly lose money on him you will minimise your losses a bit. It needn't cost the earth, a girl near me who was training for her BHS Instructors exams and wanted a bit more experience under her belt used to do this for £10 per hour and was really quite good, perhaps you could look for someone like her?
 
Any buyer can look u his record on BE for the start of this season.Also they can ho on if they wish he is fine even after time off,but just looking for quick from field sale have asked about riders but at £25 a hour it is alot to layout.
