i am struggling with sorting out livery for all my horses as they all require different things (typically!).
i've got a 12.2hh pony who has been (very) lightly backed and ideally i need to find him a nice loan home, the only reason i don't want to sell him is because i want to know how he's doing and if i sell him then i sort of lose that option (unless home was exceptional).

he's too small for me to ride myself and i really want a lovely home for him but in all honesty who would take a small pony who is (pretty much) unbacked on loan?

this isn't a post to advertise him (no details given!) but to find out if it is possible in this day and age.
thanks for reading. :)

I think it is possible but you will have to look hard.

A nice family with other ponies and lots of experience but not the funds to buy another would be idea and they are out there.
How about looking or advertising on the pony club website?

Good luck

you could find a local talented young rider who is the right age for the height who will ride other peoples horses for them with the view to compete them, a barely broken might be just the challenge some of them are looking for and if he shows potential then they could compete him. think of it like in high level competition not many riders actually own their horses but have "owners". could look into a showing or SJ home?

Try your local PC DC.

Many parents take thier kid's first ponies on loan because they grow out of them fairly fast. There is a thriving circuit of good loan ponies within most PC branches. Your situation is different in that this is not a "school master" been there, done it PC type. Obviously you will need a loan home where the parents are expereinced at backing a youngster. But your local PC is probably still your best bet. Good luck.
