i live in lincolnshire fields under water, horses in stable as wet and cold drove to work through floods and neighbour lost 4 cows as tree uprooted with all the rain and wind and hit them. when is it going to get better?

I know , and just a few weeks ago we were praying for rain here to help the grass, now we have oppostie problem.

Waterlogged fields, the horses cant go into the back field until the hay is cut, and they cant cut the hay until it dries.

The rain is set in for the week I think.

Its more like October than June

Mum won't let me book a ride as she knows the horses I ride will freak out.

Saturday night I applied pig oil and sulphur to the boys' legs and stockholm tar to their feet.

This is my normal winter routine

The boys are coming in at night - field is soggy and they are miserable staying out - the summer field does not offer much protection from the wind and rain.

They cannot wait to get into their snug dry stable and big haynets - Cairo didn't wait for me to close the field gate last night - he was off to his stable as soon as the gate was opened - bad old horse. Caught up to him and there he was firmly planted inside and making it clear he was not coming out again.

Cannot remember such a miserable June for years.

Oh tell me about it! It was so dark today with all the rain and clouds I seriously thought it was winter. Where’s this ‘hottest summer for years’ we have been promised!

Saying that I managed to catch the only half and hour it wasn’t chucking it down today for a quick hack round the block this morning, just started spitting as I got back.

You guys down in England have been having it bad. Up here in Scotland its been very wet (hasnt stopped raining since Saturday) but because of all our hills we dont seem to have any flooding at all!

I didnt think Id be using winter combo rugs on my boys in June though........

Its blowing a gale in the south!!! My paddocks are waterlogged. Roads flooded.

Thames water have just announced a hosepipe ban!
