Because i cannot find anything suitable and its slowly draining me..

I have a fair budget for both and im not asking for the earth however i cannot travel too far due to childcare so i think that does restrict me a little.

Is it worth cutting my losses and trying again next year?

There are probably less horses for sale at this time of year so less choice, traveling is more difficult due to daylight restricting how many you can try in one day but there are still some nice ones available for genuine reasons, I currently have a livery horse for sale and have had a surprising amount of interest considering the time of year. I would keep looking at the ads but only go to view if the horse really meets all your requirements, be prepared to wait until the right one comes along, it is easy to get frustrated and end up trying something that only ticks a few boxes because there is not enough choice.

Have had our yard lorry up for sale for three months had a few phone calls but have come to nothing!

Think it goes both ways!

Don't rely on the internet to find the horse you want. You will travel hundreds of miles & probably not find the one you want. Check tack shops, yards, dealers & word of mouth around your area & you should find the horse you want. You should find your horse within 10-20 miles from your home. There are hundreds out there so you should find what you want. The internet has a lot to answer for!

But the internet can help you find a local horse, you don't have to travel hundreds of miles? most people advertise on the net so you would be mad not to use it.

Have you phoned your local studs/breeders? Many in my area have older ridden horses that haven't sold, so it would be worth phoning any that breed the type you want.
