Is it too cold to full clip my cob

Well no actually, there's many products by Furminator :p Interesting to know though, might try one myself. You said til your arm hurt though? Is it any good..? Also makes me wonder; isn't fur different on a dog than a horse? *shrugs*

It does the job...I had one specifically for horses and it lasted a week ??? I had a Furminator going spare (XL for short coat) as I ended up with two for the Great Danes and decided to try it on the horses....worked an absolute treat ???
As for my arm....getting all the coat out has nearly bloody crippled me but the cob and Shitland both look and feel better for it.

Heh, ok, just made me wonder as to me if it requires that much effort maybe it's not as effective as one would like? btw, it seems they have actually done an equine version of it. Either way I'm sure it's better than those damn plastic curry combs, bristles never last and the fur just gets stuck in the grooves ._. I use a grooming mitt, which is meant for dogs, that I found in the Poundland shop once lmao, works really well. Still, I am intrigued by th is Furminator stuff, not heard of it before, thanks for sharing!

I’ve just given mine a high blanket clip as he was getting so hot and itchy now the weather has changed.

I’m going to take the lot off tomorrow though as it’s going to be so nice for a few weeks.
I have got covercote blades which leave 5mm of hair and I’ll pop a rug on if it’s going to be horrendous

He’s a very hot horse and wintered out with no rug but that also meant his coat was sooo thick!

eta I keep his feather clipped all year round or he gets stamps and itchy. I apply deosect one a month ish to his legs and that works for me after trying all sorts of things.

Mine has been hot and sweaty just stood in the field. I have had the Furminator on him and worked till my arms hurt to get the excess coat out over the last few days, it's made a huge difference :)

My TB has a thick coat and he is sweating just being in the field. We have a good breeze where I am as it's up high but he is still hot. I was going to get a shedding blade like a furminator- do you think they help? I got s*itloads of hair out with a normal rubber curry.
