Is it too early for the dreaded grazing muzzles???

Hi,

Would really appreciate some advice on what to do with my 12.2h Welsh x mare please xxx It seems like she has ballooned in just the last four days, I really don't want her to continue like this She is turned out at 9 every morning and comes in around 5pm. We don' t give her any hard feed and she is exercised 4-5 times a week. Is it ok to start putting on her grazing muzzle ( she's gonna hate me) so early?? I don't really have the option of sectioning off her paddock.

Any advice much appreciated, thanks xx

Hi, If you think you need to muzzle now, then do it. we have used the muzzle all year this year, and the pony is sounder and more lively then ever. I think that her weight has been more constant, which is surely better.

I've had one with a muzzle on all winter and another will be having his on shortly. I don't care if they hate me they don't understand the consequences.
