Donovan was backed around 8 weeks ago, and is doing just fine. He is really enjoying his jumping! We have a clear round evening tommorrow night at a yard just down the road from us. is it too soon to be taking him? Or would it do him good? You can choose whatever height you want, so could just be poles on the ground if we wanted!

Personally I think it never hurts to get youngsters out to shows and show them the world. As for jumping well if you can choose the height why not? The least he will get out of it is some experience of being away from yard.

He is 5. He has been to lots of in hand shows, and |I just thought it might be nice for him....and me!!!

In that case, crack on! :)

ETA I would have agreed with the above poster if I didn't know you had done a lot of showing with him so he should cope with a competition atmosphere without problem.

Go and have fun.
I suspect you have a great attitude in seeing it as a nice opportunity for him to experience something new without the pressure of going with the intention to win.

Oooo, excited now!! You may well have lots of proud mummy posts on Thursday!!! (or maybe he was a little git posts!)
