I've never clipped after 31st Jan.. once they are shedding you will take top of their summer coat if clip. But up to you..

I clipped one last week and doing the other tomorrow. Never had a problem before.

I clipped one of mine a few weeks ago. The other one that I really wanted to clip was already shedding his coat in handfuls so I've missed the window with him!

i gave the cushings pony a bib clip last week because as soon as it warms up slightly he's so hot and itchy. despite him being warm his body doesn't shed his teddy bear jacket quick enough. last yr i had to clip every inch of him and it didn't affect his summer coat at all
