Is it too late to clip?

depends what the horse is IMO.

I wont be doing my welshies last clip until the end of the month as he is a late moulter and takes forever to loose his coat so it all comes off!

The anglo has been moulting the last couple of weeks but I would still clip her now if I needed to.

If he is getting hot take it off

Depending on what you are going to be doing with neddy really.
If youre going to be showing you might be lucky getting the coat back ready for the early shows.

I clip when ever my boys require it. I shall be clipping my KWPN fully again this weekend but my IDxTB has only required one clip this year but just requires cat hair tidy up around his jaw.

For me, I clip because my horses get hot whilst theyre being worked, so if youre having the same problem take it off and rug up accordingly.

I think its easier to take it all off rather than have say blanket/chaser clip if youre thinking of say showing this season.

I think you'll be fine to clip now, as horses aren't yet moulting. I trim mine every few weeks to keep him looking smart for hunting. I know lots of people who s jump who clip all year round - it really is a personal thing and if your horse is being worked, and hence sweating, he will be much more comfortable with a bit less hair, and easier to clean after working.

QR - I clipped my mare on Sunday. She's coming back into more work, like yours, so just did an Irish clip to help keep her cool.

Hoping it'll also help her drop another pound or two beofre spring
