My boy has had a full clip and is growing back rapidly - however he is quite patchy. We are looking forward to our second season showing (just local) and I want his coat to be as nice as possible.

I'm considering reclipping him. Is it too late? Will I ruin his coat completely?

If your going to show i really wouldnt clip again espeacially if hes already loosing his coat. I clipped my daughters show pony on new years eve and am regretting it as have major leg lines and no sign of a summer coat coming through and have first big major show mid may. Would get the grooming block on him daily will get that coat out and will give it a nice shine too.

No, don't clip him. All mine are losing their coats now and so that means that the tips of the summer coat hairs will be poking through and you risk nipping them off. My mare was once clipped near the end of Feb and her summer coat was awful that year. I never cip after December as only guard hairs come through after then. I guess if I was attending a competition though I may do a tidy up but not this late.
