I know a few people that are looking for horses but cant find anything - the obvious place is horsemart or H&H website - they are the 1st places i think most people look.
I've just put my girl up for sale this morning on horsemart and in the local scot ads. However, I also spoke to a dealer that said up our way 'middle of the road' (price wise) horses are taking a while to sell.
I'm torn between letting her go stupidly cheaply or hanging on for a bit (but I really, really need to sell before end Sept!)
I have just sold my horse and I put him in Horse and Hound and Horsemart. I had a good response from Horse and Hound and only one person from Horsemart. This is the opposite experience from that which I had last year but I think there are so many horses on Horsemart that people struggle to see the wood for the trees. Also with Horse and Hound you go in the magazine as well as on line which seemed to generate the most interest. I think the key at the moment is to proce realistically as the market is a bit slow and just coming towards winter never helps.
H&H (duh), Horse Quest and your local Pony Club/Riding Club/Yard/Riding School classifieds. I'm actually going to try a lovely 15.2hh we found on Horse Quest last week, sometime this week... possibly saturday.

yeah, i know what you mean, i dont think i have overpriced at £2200 with tack and rugs [ he is 15 ], i want the right home more than the money but not willing to give him away so to speak
I don't think he is overpriced - I put my girl up for £1700 but she is unbroken and will only let her go to the right home. Ironic really since when the market was better I bought her sister (at the same age and again unbroken) for double that.....
