looking for a loan home for my girl?
She is currently out of work with SL damage, she has been off work since october '08 and had 6 months of box rest from may '07-sept '07 due to another injury which ended up causing the SL damage.
She was 5 when she first injured herself and is now 7 so has v low milage but was jumping up to 3'3 and starting xc when she was in work and had done some low level unafilliated dressage. She has also had 2 months professional schooling so she is not totally green.
The vet has advised me to get her re-scanned towards the end of the summer now that she has had nearly a year off so see if there is improvement.
Now, here is my problem. If vet says that she can be brought back into work, I am in a pickle because we are wanting to start a family asap and I don't want to ride if pregnant. I also have realised that even before our injury dramas I think El is much more talented than me and I know she should be out competing and jumping and I think at this time I just need a happy hacker I can drag in from the field at the weekend.
I would never sell her because we have been through hell and high water together, but is it worth (and on the basis a miracle happens and she can be ridden!) looking for a loan home that could bring her back into work or are most people looking for the finished product?
If she can't be ridden she will just stay with me as a lawn mower, but I was just wondering whether anyone would want her if it turns out that she could do a job?
Opinions v appreciated! Thankies
