Is it worth it to sell to the UK through a dealer?

I am based in Ireland with a cracking little 14hh pony, who jumped his first 1.10 track in September and competed with success up to Novice (1m) PC eventing. He's been off work since the start of Oct as I am in an exam year and have a horse so can only get to him maybe once a week..but now it's come to a stage that he really has to go and find a home where he can be in constant work. We wanted to send him to a local lady who sells allrounder ponies unseen to the UK, but she never answered my Mum's message with her number to discuss... so can only assume she isn't interested. She is the only person we know who sells this type of pony, so as we don't know of anyone else, we're thinking we'll just put him up ourselves.

Problem is though obviously he's currently hairy, unfit and not at his best. From experience do you think it would be worth it to look around and find someone who would be interested in taking him as a sales livery, or just sell him as he is? Not sure about price, but looking at about €6\7000 for him. Do you think it ends up more profitable to give to a dealer, who'll fitten and school him for a few weeks, and then sell onto their links, or sell him currently?

Fairly vague question, sorry, but am grateful for any advice!

Go round and see the local lady, dont just message. The bain of my life is the internet and text messages. I like to talk face to face with people.Edited to add ,She wont bite (probably) so go see her and explain what you want.

Perhaps...but messaged her to her sales page asking did she do sales livery, she replied straight away yes, depending on price and pony. Mum replied with a very vague uninterested message - just said "The Clover Hill pony" so the conversation stopped in tracks (though Mum didn't exactly help it imo!) . Mum then went and messaged her a week later to her private profile, asking for number. Saw immediately and didn't get back. Just dont want to annoy the poor lady if she's actually trying to say "go away!" just politely!

I think if she had wanted to take your pony she would have got back to you, after all she is running a business. If she mainly deals in all rounders maybe she thought your pony needed more of a competitive home, or a dealer specialising in competition ponies. What about the sales? Goresbridge or Cavan? You would get a lot of UK and other foreign buyers there.
