Is it worth paying £10 (feed query)

I normally feed Top spec balancer but i went in my local tack shop today and it was £10 more than Bailey Lo Cal. I have heard they are both very good ... but is TS really worth the extra money?

I would go to each website and note all the details about each one then compare them carefully. if there is no obvious benefit to the TS, then I would go for the Baileys.

If you ring Topspec, they will send you a very professional pack that lists all their products and compares them with similar. As sm says, one of the tables they show is a comparison between Topspec and Bailey's LoCal. I have recently started my veteran gelding on LoCal and it's a really good product. You can see your face in his coat now! I have also started my rescue mare on Topspec because she needed a feed balancer for a good doer but she also needs Yea Sac and Topspec contains yeasac of a strain even better than LoCal. Baileys will send you a little trial pack to make sure your ned will eat it before you fork out for a big bag. Sunny loves it. He'd it it neat given a chance! Topspec may also send you a trial pack - worth asking.
 
Top Spec has the highest levels of required vits and mins according to the spreadsheets that I've seen. Produced independently, not by TS I hasten to add. Although I know lots of people who feed the Baileys Lo Cal and swear by it.

Yes I have the yellow TS leaflet, and I will check out Baileys.
At least they are not missing out with lo-cal. Just becomes such an expense as I have a stressy wb type and a IDx. Must have 6 bins all with different feed in!!

We swear by TS - suits ours down to the ground - one is easily hotted up by feed, and shes very level headed on TS.
 
Im not a big fan of "balancers", I think they're very expensive. Personally I like feeding depending on the horse so Ill feed a conditioning cube etc. and then add a locally made vit & min supplement to it. I think its balanced enough and way cheaper :P
