Dear HHOers, please give me your blessing to buy this rug:

http://www.horseandrider.co.uk/shop/2/12/178/index.htm

2nd one down, rambo newmarket exercise sheet in chocolate witney stripe.

I don't have a horse - not even a ride at the moment :o but I can just imagine that looking good on any horse that I might conceiveably want to buy in the future ;) and hopefully it'll be the not too distant future... so pretty please can I?! :D

I love the chocolate stripes. I could get it in the fleece rug if you think that would be a more acceptable way to buy a rug when you don't have a horse...

...buy the rug, buy the horse that fits it later sort of thing? But like trying to buy a horse that fits my saddle, no? :p

I have a beautiful blue Thematex bargin rug complete with my intitials , in gold.
I doubt it will ever go on a horse, I would like it on my bed but hubby not so keen.

Would you like a horse so you have an excuse to buy the rug?

I may know of one :D;)

Excellent! Will he/she carry my fat derriere, or are they a bargain, but wait until I'm half the size I am now type? :D

Can you send by post? :p

My only question is: why the 'or'???

Buy both :D :D :D

Don't start me. I may never stop. :D

You can always use it as a blanket till you get a horse :D Winter is almost here you know!!

That is a good point. it would also help with the following:

Thing is, I really want a thermatex as a cooler for the not-yet-here-'oss. So will a fleece be redundant? But then its problem solved, cos I can use it for meself! :D

Excellent answers all, thanks for agreeing, and I look forward to being the proud owner of a lovely new rug! :D

PS what size should I buy for my not-yet-here-'oss. Do I go by size of the sofa I wish to display it off, or try to be a little sensible and buy, say, a 6'6 which should I would imagine fit a 15.2 cob which is likely to be the type I will end up with.

... a 6'6 will fit that type, right? or 6'9? Can't now remember what size my last horse wore :o

I have a great idea you buy yummy rug and i will happily display it on my horses until you buy your own.
And you can come play/ride my horses till you buy your own.
I cant say fairer than that so yes you have my permisson to buy said rug

He manages to cart my derriere about so I'm sure he'll manage yours.

I could post him in parts, would that be any good to you? it would give me a valid excuse to shoot it you see :D

This seriously has to be the craziest post I have ever read - god am I being boring - um I feel a yes coming on.

Go on buy the bugger - why not - as for size - well my 16hh IDx mare is a 6'3'' just to give you some idea.

Oh and I love the brown/cream witney stripe....

I love these rugs. Ive got the full rug in navy for mine and need to get the navy ex sheet before they discontinue it as they have now gone for charcoal.
Im getting a large fro my 16.3 wb as med it 4'7 and will be a bit short although large at 4'11 might be a bit big, mind you it will keep the whole of his butt warm :D
I one of those throws in choc for my in laws as a xmas prezzy, they love it in the winter sat on the sofa wraped in it (they dont really do heating!)

Haha I love this post.
I currently share but may own in the future. I was "window shopping" last night and having a dilema, do a buy things that current boy or things to buy the horse I would like in the future (smaller)
Pleased someone is equally nuts :D:D:D:D:D
Love the rug as well.

OMG you are all completely crackers!!!!

Why would you even be looking at rugs if you didn't even have a horse??

Badger hasn't got any nice pretty rugs... I'm sure he'd love to be a model for a psychotic rug buying female! :D

Buy the rug. Enjoy it.

My Ardennes X ID is 16.1hh and 16.1hh wide and he takes a 6'9. I think 6'3 would be fine for you.

When you see horsey adds and they offer the tack and rugs - do you think, "eeuuw, no I want nice colours and stuff."

I do.......

This post is brilliant!! :D
You never know, buying the rug may give you the big push to then go and buy the horse!! :p
Size is a tricky one though.... My 13.3hh welshD used to wear a 5'9 but he was very long backed, and my now 16.3 TB can also fit in a 5'9! lol Now tell me how that works?!?
But I would say a 6'6 would be a good size as kind of in the middle for horse sizes lol :D

reminds me of when I was a kid, and used to buy the cheapest headcollar or brush out of the listings in pony magazine - and nope, I didn't have a pony :)

Sorry for the mamouth post - but I am having fun because somebody showed me how to multiple quote :p

this is a tempting offer, but then so is kenzo's:

:D

Horseware actually do throws/blankets in the same colours as this range. My tack shop sells them at around £30 I think. Then you could use your choc stripe throw on your bed or sofa and not worry about it being the wrong size for a pony!!!!

Gingerbird, I can't believe you have posted me that link. Now I want a rug for my horse, a blanket for me AND a handbag which all match! :D

Ooh I bought the charcoal one to go nicely with my dapple grey :)

She does exist though :p

My horse does exist. I just haven't found and bought them yet. I should be prepared :p

Both ;)

um... because it was in a catalogue I signed up to receive when I a) had a loan horse and b) it has rider clothes in. As for the last bit, accurate, but unnecessarily harsh, i feel :p:D

This post is brilliant!! :D
You never know, buying the rug may give you the big push to then go and buy the horse!! :p

This is what i'm thinking. Want my own horse soon - will be possible inside the year, fingers crossed, so by actually window (and not so window) shopping I am increasing the likelihood that I will actually end up with a horse :D

Either that or I can wear the rug as a cape.

I have the headcollar to match that!!!! Now i think i need the excercise rug too!!
It's gorgeous, get it!!!!! he he he

I had a 15.1hh cob who was a size 6ft, now have a 15.1hh anglo arab and a 15.3hh warmblood who both fit ninto 6ft rugs so I would go for a 6ft or possibly 6'3'', would worry that 6'6'' would be too long for the as yet un-found 15.2 cob type horse, then you'd have to buy another rug!

How strange - I must have just had a longer than usual 15.2 cob before :o He was short coupled and everything! Mind you, a couple of rugs did hang off his bum admitedly! :o Must have been because he was so wide he took up the length that way.

I like the newmarket style colours as well :D Its just that growing up near newmarket I kinda feel its strange seeing a cobby type in a proper newmarket blanket, like pretending you've got a TB and you're kidding nobody ;)

Now then, where's my credit card, and where do I get the matching headcollar from?! :D
