pointless post but is katie price any good at riding-pretty much everyone seems to think not-saw the flying changes at a previous hoys which looked pretty good-is it just because no one likes her or she just no good...seems even more pointless now ive wrote it lol :rolleyes:
 
Think she has been riding since she was a young girl, so probably no worse than some of us.

P.s Grammar police are going to arrest you :p
 
Very probably better than me and her thighs look loads better in johds than mine. '(chunky and short)

I can't stand birds who get their muffs/knockers out for a living (they are NOT in the sisterhood) but at least she's trying to make amends now.

Her instructer is a really top bloke isn't he??? Seriously, if he's giving her lessons, I am SURE she's better than me. :p
 
I've just youtubed her and she did a two step, and a one step flying change - I'm sure she had to give the correct aids and the horse didn't do it for her. She's clearly capable, and alot better rider then what I am as I can't do that! I would be more concerned if she was a poor rider considering the amount of money she has put into having decent horses and lessons. xx :)
 
IMO if shes a good rider or bad. At least shes putting her money into somthing worthwhile instead of going out drinking and taking drugs! :)
 
I've seen a youtube video of her riding and don't think she is a spectacular rider, but there again neither am I nor most people in the world. Unfortunatly most of the people who commented on the video seem to be using this as ammunition to hate her even more which is ridiculous. I quite like the woman myself!
 
Rather see lack of outline than a holding outline any day :) Yes, she can ride, she seems sympathetic in her riding. Her hands need work (most people's hands need work!) but she looks balanced and light.
 
Yes, her riding is good, however, for the amount of money and time she throws into the sport, she is quite average. I think most forum members, given the opportunity to ride highly trained horses and under decent instruction at least a couple of times a week would be able to at least achieve her level of riding to be honest. I think the 2012 Olympics is a bit far fetched :)

Ditto.

I wonder how good any of us average riders would be when knowing we are being watched by the world's media :cool:. A lot of people can't ride when they know the yard witch is watching - for KP it must be like riding in front of a world's worth of them! :eek::D

She hasn't brought the world of horses into disrepute (driving issue apart). She appears to care for her horses. She spends time and money on them. Just like the rest of us really :D
 
i'm certainly not her biggest fan but...give the girl a break!

that vid was shot over 2 YEARS ago..

there are at least 2 regular vid posters on here about their lessons/riding etc that are far worse than KP..and they are lauded. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Fickle lot on here.
 
AT least she is spending money on improving by having lessons.

Some (just a few) kids round here seem to 'improve' by having Bank of Mummy and Daddy buy a better pony - one that comes with a winning track record that they just sit on, point and kick over a jump, but don't spend any on lessons, or do any dressage tests (which would highlight the lack of lessons), they only do show jumping or hunter trials.

Totally agree, sauce for the goose and all that.

I am not a huge fan of KP, and she does look fairly novicey in the video, yes the horse is hollow and not really going forward, yes she is on the wrong diagonal for a lot of the time and yes her hands are a little mobile BUT as NP says, that was 2 years ago, I am positive she has improved since then, I wonder how a lot of those bashing her would cope with the worlds press watching THEIR first dressage test!

I believe that video was taken when she had just got the horse and the cameramen were scaring the horse with the microphones and cameras.

I think she does pretty well and it is nice to see her riding quietly and not yanking the horse all over the place just to make it look good!

I so would love her body too! - not the plastic bits tho!!
 
Does it really matter? I don't particularly like what she does for a career, but because of that she's going to be in the spotlight anyway. She's an okay rider, not bad, not brilliant either - no better or worse than many of us out here, where the only difference is that the public aren't looking into every aspect of our life all the time. Olympic hopes? Not at all.

At least by all accounts she treats her horses well.

I have always wondered though how, with all that silicone, she can actually manage to sit to the trot? Being average size myself (36b - and happy with that) I've always felt glad that I'm not any bigger "up front" as I simply can't imagine what it must be like when riding!

Depends how comfy the horses movement is ;) Would be painful if you were riding a shetland pony!

Not sure there is much left in umm "original condition".... she's had loads of surgery not just the boobs, work on her face and lots of liposculpture. Her thighs are far from being all her own work!
 
Not sure if anyone watches her show but she has just recently moved house & her horses are at home now. Beautiful place!
I think she is just like the average jo-but with access to top horses & trainers.
Good luck to her I say!

I believe she has enough money to do that too - not sure about the drugs but absolutely certain about the drink.....

I don't believe she is a great rider - her horses are pretty push button. However, I have known a lot worse.....

Personally though, I cannot stand the woman nor her products - actually, I would go so far as to say that I wouldn't be seen dead in her "chavtastic" clothing range...
 
I don't think she is a bad rider at all really.......be good to see her oon one of our less expensive horses and see what kind of a job she does with them.
I do think however you still need to be kind of good to ride a well schooled top horse but on the same note someone who has never done flying changes could do them on a good horse if told how to do them, i know plenty of good riders who have never done things like flying changes etc....as they are not dressage people but could do it if on a nice horse that knew the aids. :D
 
well she's been riding almost her entire life, has access to very good trainers, horses and facilities, so yes I would say she's a fairly good rider

if you take away who she is and watched the video, I'm sure there'd be more constructive comments because tbh it's not that bad even though it's older, I know for a fact I could produce footage that if somebody wanted too, could pick it apart easily! I also have seen footage of top riders that I shudder at!
Also I noticed how the horse keeps glancing over to the cameras and media, the horse does look strong at times imo

based on what I said above, I think she's a fairly good rider, opinions of her as a person aside
