As the title says really, I read on some posts to put latex bandage on my waterford to stop it cutting horses mouth out hunting. But is it VR and do I just put it on at the edges or does it go right across the mouthpiece.

No its not the same stuff. Latex bandage is usully white and its incredibly sticky compared to vetwrap. Be careful as some horses are allergic to latex.

oh, could have a rash then instead of cuts..

No, MrsMozart, I have tried a grackle but he chomps until its stretched then gallops off with his head down. Pelham does nothing. I am considering an american gag but dont want to hunt on 2 reins - could I use roundings with one??

Maybe im just anticipating the worst as I did one OJD this year and he was a dream, but my last outing he cut himself. May leave well alone and stay off his mouth no matter what. He will burn out eventually wont he.

Thanks for your replies.

I think im going to go the American gag route. I will have a look at the mouthpieces.

I thought also, what if the vet wrap came off in his mouth and choked the beastie.. poor lad.

Yes, he will be getting some american brakes to try I think!!

Thankyou x
