My horses weren't in the field at the time but the farmer spread lime in one of my fields about a week ago and although we have had a few bursts of rain I was wondering if the horses will be ok to go back in on Saturday? I've walked through the field and there is a clumps of it laying about still. I know these will eventually be washed away.

As far as I am aware the only danger is when it's first spread and them inhaling the dust?

Will they be ok? Will they try and eat it?!

You need to keep horses off the field until all the lime particles have gone.

Do you know which type of 'lime' was applied ie ground limestone, ground chalk, calcareas sand, calcified seaweed etc???
