In light of previous posts...
I am going to post a pic of the beautiful and talented Millie. It is about 8/9 weeks old and just after her clip.
I want honest opinions. I can take it!! (Its ok, I've hung up my bear traps now)
If others feel that they too want an impartial opinion from (and don't you get big headed) people who I feel are experts then go ahead, after all this is the civilised AAD's not the 'other' forum parts..LOL
So....remember HONESTY please as by telling me you think she is fat will not hurt me-too much lol-but could safe her life!!
So.....

Not in the slightest.

Maybe OT but specially for larger, weight-bearing dogs and especially in the first year, while they are getting all their nutrients, I would prefer underweight to carrying too much, while the joints are forming.

(I think you mean the photo is that age, not the dog, correct?)

Thank you both.
Trusted opinions, so to hear it is a huge relief.
She has 1 tin of meat a day split over two feeding sessions.
She has a mixer feed added to this and is left every day with a treat-pigs ear, jumbone and the likes.
She is never tit-bitted :( lol its not allowed, she is sent to her bed at 'people feed' times.
She is walked.....what seems like continuously.
She was on Butchers dry but we were told this can make furries hyper-it certainly gave her squits!!

Mahooooooooosive:eek::eek::eek: - not!!:D

She is absolutely fine:) - The Moo looks similar to her - you can just feel his ribs and there is plenty of definition - probably because he never sits down either!!:rolleyes: St Sweep is 'solid' and at the vets yesterday I weighed him - he is still 17kgs (has been for the last 11 years) but as he now just tootles out on walks instead of hooning around he has chunked up - am going to try and get him to shift a kilo - no treats - and try and get him to walk a bit further - difficult when its warm for him but he was clipped today so hopefully will feel better and more up for a walk.:)

She looks ideal.

Mine don't get tit-bitted either, if they get food as part of training it is taken out of their daily feed.

I would stick to just pigs ears or a proper bone from the butchers or meat counters, some of those commercial 'treats' are just a waste of money.

 That is beyond cruel! Grotesque. How can people watch their pets slow;y die. My cat is overweight, but I know this and he is on a diet. I would never ever let him get obese like those dogs. I would report myself to the RSPCA if I did!!

I remember watching a prog with a woman saying about her fat dog "But he just loves chocolate buttons and would be upset if he didn't get them" There were just no words!
