I am paying £ 75 for a new set inc road nails. Sounds like I'm being done! Nah only joking! That's what anyone decent charges around here, and my farrier went VAT registered last year which made a big difference
I pay £62 for a set with road nails my horse has gone lame due to a punctured sole, farrier cameout removed shoe found the hole polticed foot and didnt charge me a penny and my horse was a complete arse.
£20 for a trim £5 travelling costs. My friend has just started using him to so he splits the travelling between us. He is great though and I feel worth every penny.
Ours charges £35 for front shoes and to trim the back ones and only charged £20 for Pearl, who was awful and had to be sedated, he persevered with her and it always took ages. I think he charged £20 to trim the old girl this time, but she was the only one he did. Usually reliable, but I book in when he is here. (he told me that road nails cost him 50p each)

who is that C?
I have Tim who does most of WL but I love the way he shoes, interacts with the horses and will get out the stable and do them himself, i trust him 100% with Flint
Come on guys,be fair if your farrier is self employed runs a vehicle to do his job, pays his tax, national insurance, pays into a pension, puts back holiday pay or sick payif he earns less than £750 a week he is wasting his time. If I earned more maybe I could afford my own horse and maybe a old horse lorry.
