is my horse too thin?

No - he looks to be in great racing condition - lean and the muscles on the rear end packed with power. It must be a stallion - look at the muscled neck

That's exactly what I did and look at me now, a pure horse expert :D you'll get there soon, keep at it

Thanks for the advice and the encouragement, expertise is my goal. :D

As you are a horse expert already, could you tell me what you think of my TB's weight. I'm a bit worried that the grass isn't as good this year due to the dry weather, he's not holding condition as well as he has in the past. Do you think I should up her hard feed?

I don't often comment on such threads, but I have to say (don't be offended) - I think he's running up a little light behind. Could be the camera angle, so please forgive me if I've got this horribly wrong.

OP personally i think your trusty steed could do with a lttle less grass and more muscle.
and Bop well you sould be buying as much haylage and conditioning mix as you can for your mare or i am sorry but a call to RSPCA, WHW and BHS about how underweight she is

I am sorry OP but what is it with all these weight posts?

Clearly you are attention seeking as it is obvious your horse is in his prime and no doubt is on the radar for Olympic selection.

I can see no other reason to post other than to show off and make the rest of us feel very very inadequate

Hmmm.

He looks in almost perfect condition to me. Is he riding well? Any behavoural issues? No? Thats great.

However....I would advise getting his teeth and tack checked, get a 'back person' in - possibly do a bit of Parelli and then- go barefoot.

Always room for improvement eh?:D

thank you noblehorse i have just snorted tea out my nose!:D:D

i think he's in wonderful condition for his age, is finding a saddle a bit of a problem, has rather flat withers doesn't he:)

Well, OP , He is totally out of proportion ,with that massive crest and no power behind.
.Allso, look at that rolkur! head down , mouth open ..i thought you might know better :D
I bet he has a nice "uphill" canter though :P xx

hmm, i'd say he looks in quite good condition..very fatty neck though you wanna watch he doesn't get laminitis!

He looks to have good breeding-is it by any chance tree cross donkey out of a piece of felt ?

Thankyou, thankyou, Noblehouse for brightening my day!

What colour is on his passport?
Is a buckdun or a dunskin? Did he grey out during birth?
Where are all the colouring experts when you need them?
LOL

Teee heee love it :D

Thank the lord, someone with sense of humour, it's been lacking on here for a while now, thanks for cheering us up.

Love him is he related to our gelding Jo?

He also looks thin. He has not moved for days, or blinked. But if he wanted to eat that lovely looking dock he could.

Does any one think it is any thing to worry about? He is also a bit stiff!!

Thanks, he's a beaut ain't he :D
As for the saddle, my mates, neighbours auntie used to ride a bit when she was a nipper, she said my saddle is a perfect fit, so I'm happy with that ;)

He's a wooden grey dun :D He was a bit darker when he was younger, but he has faded a bit with age and with having various sweets and ice cream stains. found straight bleach was the only way to get those out
