Please let me know your views on how much you would pay across england for a tb x Connemara:
I bought her 6 months ago and she was slightly underweight due to being hunted as a 4 yr old twice a week, she passed her 5 stage vet cert with flying colours and came home. I tried her twice very green as had not much flatwork apart from bombing across fields, but willing and intelligent. Will jump ANYTHING barb wire ditches you name it. 100% bombproof on roads will not bat an eye lid at anything.
Since i've had her she's up to weight done lots of flatwork and showjumping 1.20m loose jumps 1.40m. Ridden in a snaffle no martingale or anything, even when xc. She came 3rd in her first working hunter against a strong field of 17! Not marish at all even when in season loves to be fussed very mannerly. When taking out she acts like shes at home, sometimes falling asleep! But a forward responsive ride. Should i be waiting for a catch? I'll let you know the price i paid after a few responses. As she was when you bought her then she was prob worth 2.5-3.5k, depending lots of things.
Sounds like you've added plenty of value onto her
 
The market is a bit depressed at the moment so it depends on how quick a sale you want. I would say about £4,000 as she is now, but up to £6,000 if she had some points BSJA, or some more showing wins under her belt, etc to prove her competition record. Sorry if that sounds stingey, she does sound lovely and is probably priceless, but not many horses are selling at the moment.
 
I paid 2K for a gelding of similar learning/height/age etc about 9 years ago. He was great at hunting (apparently!) but nappy little ar*e everywhere else! so I'd say about that much maybe?!

If they have no particular breeding, mine was Out of Ireland, by Boat then I think they are not worth that much if all they have seen is the hunting field and have little schooling.
 
Thats great thankyou for your views, she's an irish sport horse as i live in Ireland and just wandered how much people are prepared to pay. I dont want to sell her i think she is such a gem and a real looker and a sort hard to find. I paid £1600 for her and enquiring what her worth is now since shes been 2 phasing with me, pleasure rode, xc, done working hunter as much things as i can to get her out and about. And need to increase her value i think with the insurance?
 
I would definitely up her value with the insurance. She really does sound a fantastic little mare

i got a 15.1 grey 19 years ago, same discription on loan - i still have her & never paid a penny! But she has been worth her weight in gold, If i could have the same again & i had the money i would pay any thing!
 
Thats so nice to hear, thankyou. If i still have her in 19 years i'll be more than happy. I've had horses since i caould walk and have never found one that has touched me soo much and want to hang out in the field with! She's always soo welcoming even if she's in the field with the other horses she'll make a point when she see's you to call and trot over. When i dangle arount her neck she'll curl her head round to pull you closer as if hugging you! I've falling off once since i've had her (my fault, obviously!) and she stood and nuzzled me, i've never experienced that! People always say you'll get one animal in a lifetime that will touch you, could she be it? At such a young age she seems so wise, has anyone else experiences this?
 
I had a grey mare, similar breeding colour and size, out of Ireland years ago.
She was my one in a million horse and I miss her terribly. I had her 16 years and we did everything together, I would have trusted her with my life.
 
The funny thing is i didn't want a grey and have never had one, ideally i wanted a chestnut, and i read her ad and not very excitedly went to view her and she has excelled my expectations! You hear so many horror stories of people trying to sell overpriced horses that its soo hard to judge. I seen my fair share of 'terrible' horses and she ended up only 5 miles away! Sometimes their right under your nose!
