TBX, 15.1hh Gelding 7 years old. hasnt done anything, recently started jmping.

he has got collapsed heels that we are sorting out now, but they are so collapsed there is a chance he could be on and off lame for the rest of his life.

he has a lovely nature in the stable but can be a right bugger to ride, iv had him a year and falled off nearly 10 ten times and he was off work for most of the year due to injuries.

she thinks she can get £1500 for him. and i think the £800 offer the physio said was still generous.

what do u think?

Your offer sounds generous to me, the vets bill could potentially be huge and I assume that they would not be covered until insurance as its a pre-existing condition??

Sorry I would give him away to a good home......to many problems.....as they say a horse is worth what a buyer is prepared to pay.....just my opinion for what it's worth!

Are you thinking of buying him? If you are why? If he has always been lame and you've fallen off him a lot he doesn't sound the best horse in the world for you to own.

I don't understand how collasped heels could make a horse permanently lame though - I would get some wedges put on to help and a good farrier to sort them out. Who has told her that he is going to be lame?

i agree with archies mum.. i cant understand why anyone would buy him, i wouldnt have brought him. but now i know him i would think about it if i could afford him.

the insurance is paying for his shoeing at the moment, but i doubt she can keep on claiming for it.

his owner gave him to me last year to bring on, i just look after himid say he been lame every month since iv had him and it ranges from a week off work, to walking it off... depending on how he feels!!

the vet told us that he may always be lame. he said the the way the hoof has grown, we are asking alot to expect it to correct it self. when you loo at his hoofs with no shoes on the heels are basically curled under, pressing on his soles.
