A fellow livery bought a horse very recently. We all knew it wouldnt last (through no fault of the horse) and well, have now seen the advert online.........it has been kept rather a secret which I find weird; when you want to sell a horse, surely you tell the liveries as its best to recommend a friend etc.....anyway. I digress.

I have been asked what I think of the ad (after "How do you know she is for sale??!!". when I asked why is she for sale).....well, what do I answer when I think the spiel is crap, the horse has been described as a saint and 100% in areas that are yet to be tested and the price? Well.

I am sooooo glad I love my boy so much nearly 4 years on and think myself lucky I dont have to trawl through all the slightly rose tinted ads to sort the good from the bad again.

Why did you all think it would all go wrong, and why do you think the horse has been misdescribed in the ad?
Just curious:confused:

has probably all been kept a secret because of nosey liveries sticking their nose in when its really got nothing to do with them. this poor person is probably sick of hearing people talking about her and the horse and how it won't last behind her back and decided to keep things to herself

agree, its her horse!!

i sold a horse a few years back NOT A NOVICE RIDE as very forward and needs a confident rider. along with hacks in company but spooks when hacking alone. he was fab in school ext but as soon as open fields or roads were involved you really wanted to just get off!

a lovely man bought him and he owned him for a good year. one day i was looking through a website at horses for sale and came across my old boy.
he was advertised as "perfect gent, fantastic to do will suit any rider"!!!! first off i thought maybe he has been re-schooled,
so i sent a friend to go try him out,
he was fab in the school as usual but when she asked if she could take him for a quick hack he made his excuses that he didnt have time ext and had to work soon. so she went back again a week later to try him again and you would never believe it.... yep another excuse! so she asked if she could take him in the paddock behind the school and he agreed reluctantly, and to say the least he was CRAZY! he was in a dutch gag which had no effect! the price was also shocking that he had him advertised for. i sold him for £1200 with tack ect, he had him for sale for £3500 ovno!!!!!!
such a shame.
i know it is not the same but it does happen. i knew the man before he bought my boy and had the understanding if it didnt work out i would buy him back for the same price he paid and no questions asked. needless to say i was fuming!
i think it is well bad that people feel they need to lie about a horses ability to sell them. if you cared in anyway about your horse you would be as honest as possible and not just sell for money money money.

Oh excellent. It was looking like just another thread but then I got to the bottom of the first page! This has worked out well for me who is parked up in bed with tonsillitis, a nose running for Great Britain and ears that are so itchy I think have mites!! :D

Please, don't let me down vision0779 and Yorkshire Dumpling, i'm very limited for entertainment. . .

With regards to the original post, I fully agree with the owner of the horse for sale, what the flipping heck has it got to do with anyone else and who are they to pass judgement!!

well i've got the half term off next week, so i might even crack open some lager (how crass of me!!) and wait for the next popcorn panto!!
